Welcome!
The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

It's funny... I love this map, but the thing it did most for me was show me how a simple compass rose can be so perfect. I'd had grand plans for mine in my novel, but this sent me in a different (and I think better) direction. Thanks for sharing your work.
Interesting... This compass actually began as something more complex, and then as I kept looking at it--feeling it was off somehow--I just made it simpler and simpler until what you see. Thanks for the comments.
Love that. Funny how things work that way some times. You can make something grand, but it just doesn't fit the feel then you start chipping away until it's right. Again.. great work. So I keep reading that people are going to "rep" things. not sure how (been too busy working on my map to figure it out.) How would I promote the coolness of your maps?
Well, as far as promoting the coolness, I believe you've already done so with your wonderfully generous comments! But to 'rep' something, and I believe the function is only available on an actual post in the forums, there is a little to the lower left of every post and, if you hover over it, you'll see the phrase, "Add to this user's reputation."
Ah... thanks. If that's how things get repped, I'd recommend making a specific post for each of those maps you added to you album. They're all good, but three of them are just plain awesome.
This is just beautiful. Thanks.
