Welcome!
The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Full and Complete Map of the Tillerian Isles with Scale
Really nice clean map like it alot, a couple comments. Scale of trees to mountains - those are some large trees! Scale bar maybe only needs to go to 200. You treat the side longitude labels above the lines, while the latitude labels intersect the lines. I'd try to treat the same if possible. I initially read the mountains as blowing ferns or something, sorry. Salty marsh, close down the tracking to fit better. Nice job. Sylar maybe move slightly down so that it only overlaps one river.
Thanks for the lightning fast feedback! Scale bar: Great idea, I'll do that. Lat./Long. labels: I based the labels on maps like this, but I see what you are saying. They look a bit tight so if I do keep them centered I'll probably loosen up the tracking so they don’t hit the lines so much. Mountains: I agree that they are a bit round. I may have played it too safe because I was using brushes and didn't want it to jump out that they are all identical. I'll probably rework these and maybe add some variation. Forests: Good point! It looks really cartoony now that I'm looking at it. I'll shrink them down and increase the density. Would you suggest doing the same thing for the plants in the Salty Marsh? Salty Marsh label: Easy fix, I'll do it right now. Thanks for pointing it out. Sylar label: Again, a quick and easy fix. I'm already blown away at the speed and quality of the feedback in this forum. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment.
Really nice work. Very clean.
