Welcome!
The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Europe in 1700 - An Alternate History
This map was commissioned by Greater Than Games for their board game Spirit Island. Players cooperate to repel European colonizers. Countries will appear on individual cards which can alter game conditions. ©Greater Than Games "Working with Zach Bodenner was a wonderful experience. He has a strong work ethic that seamlessly mixes time management & efficiency with beautiful artwork. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of cartography and world history made our map creation experience extremely enjoyable. He was very open to alterations based upon our feedback, but also presented many options unknown to us that helped to elevate the end product. Zach was even willing to take some risks and work in areas that were tangent to his strengths, but he mastered them flawlessly. Greater Than Games will surely be keeping Zach in mind for future projects." -Greater Than Games
Wow, this is fantastic, man. Beautiful work!
