The Bazaar. Everyone in my game starts off in an underground world that is fully populated with various locations. This is the Bazaar. In the upper left corner of the map is the gateway from the alcoves. The alcoves are off of the tavern. The tavern is off of the dungeon. So dungeon->tavern->alcoves->bazaar. The Bazaar contains only non-magical items, +1 magical items, and +2 magical items. From here players can journey to the various realms. These being the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Kingdom, the Water Kingdom, the Air Kingdom (also called the Cloud Kingdom and the realm of the Storm Giants), the Realm of the dead, and the Island of the Gods. The Earth Kingdom has up to +3 magical items, the Fire Kingdom up to +4 magical items, Air Kingdom up to +5 magical items, Realm of the dead up to +10 magical items, and there are no shops on the Isle of the Gods. Just death or some other horrible fate. The Bazaar is sectioned up into several areas. First thee are the various sects (color coded tents), then the upper kingdom, the lower kingdom, and then the warehouses and finally the docks. In the upper kingdom is a walled area just like in the lower kingdom. These locations are where the royalty live as well as those who are extremely rich. The walls are 50ft high surrounding these areas. Surrounding the walled compound are those who are fairly well off. Just like those who live in the tent area, you can buy various items. Those who live within the walled area have the +2 magical items. Those in the buildings around the walled area have the +1 magical items. Everything sold in the tented areas ranges from non-magical to +5 magical items. However, as stated before, you can only buy up to +2 magical items in the bazaar. So players would do well NOT to buy anything over +2 and those only from those within the walled compound. Otherwise, the unhappy player may come to find that their brand new +5 sword actually is a cursed sword which is really a -1 or -2 magical sword. It is the same in the other realms. Many a person has ignored the signs at the docks that tell you what level items are available and instead just go off and buy a (+100,+100) bow of wishes which turns out to break the moment it is used.
