Hey there, I'm quite a new member, and quite new to map making. I've happened across CC3, and have the desire to create a map for a fantasy world of my creation that I'd like to host my D&D games in. Having a well made, detailed map to work with would be superb, so I'll be browsing the site for how-to's and guides.

That said, I'm a horrible artist, though not necessarily having bad taste in art. I'll be looking for guides on blending colors, what colors work well together, and how to use the tools presented in CC3. If anyone reading this intro knows of a good guide for anything along those lines, or just a good guide for someone who's completely new to any form of art, please don't hesitate to putting a link here for me. It would be much appreciated. I'm not a slow learner, so I should get a handle on this stuff rather quickly.

A little about myself, I enjoy a good role playing game, along with my hobby of Warhammer 40,000/Fantasy. Generally talkative, not always the funniest guy, but certainly not lacking in wit.

And so, pleased to meet you all. Thank you for having such a resource open to help people like me, and I look forward to being able to share the fruits of my soon-to-be work.

Hiya Squallevoker, welcome to the Guild! Check out the Tutorial section of the forum; a good place to start is the Quickstart Guide to Fantasy Mapping (http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?4276-Quickstart-Guide-to-Fantasy-Mapping.). The tuts will have you mapping in no time :)
