OK, I'm in. Who can't resist to make a city map :lol:?
I will try to create K-City Downtown, modern style, in Bryce. I've never done this before, but first experiments look good :).

Cool. My only suggestion is to vary the heights of the buildings a little bit...will look a little boring if they're all the same height. Also, adding some greebles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greeble) to the tops of the buildings might be cool. Finally, this looks more like a business park (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_park) than a downtown area. If you throw in some nice landscaping I think it'd complete that look. If you did, then you could make the area beyond the part you're detailing into a carpet of buildings to give some background. Just some thoughts.

Thanks M. Im in a very early phase and different building heights will come as well as some landscape scenery.

Thanks RJB and JT! I am progressing very slow with this map, had to change the buildings with round elements from a heightmap to boolean objects (not finished yet) and started with the park to set a scale. Adding greebles, like mearrin suggested, would be nice for the roofs, but I think it is not possible in the way as it is in 3DMax or Blender (scripts) for Bryce. If I have the time to implement this the only way I see at the moment is with the bump or displacement effect (I am a noob to Bryce and try to learn it a bit with this map).

Thanks Avengeil! I am quite happy with the results so far; never thought of making a map in Bryce, but this is what the challenge is for: trying new things. Here is the next update

Thanks SG. The map is nearly finished. I wanted to add a compass rose and a legend in the final map. Took more time than I expected.

Okay, this looks really good. I'm almost positive I'll vote for it as is, but to me, it still seems like it's missing something. I wish I could tell you what it is, but I can't put my finger on it. I don't think the blue-gray background is doing you any favors either; it just seems kind of hum-drum up against the amazing model. I wonder what it would look like at night? What about a texture on the road, and maybe some lanes and traffic lights? I don't know, I'm just throwing things out there now..
Either way, you're a beast. This looks incredible.

geamon: all weapons are allowed ;) and you have a very nice map in the challenge!
IG: as an enthusiastic Sim City 4 player I know that a lot of things are missing to improve the overall atmosphere, but this my first try in Bryce and if I had to create this map again I would make a lot of things different. Adding things like garbage cans and traffic lights demands a large library of objects you have, I'm just at the beginning to create something like this. I tried to cheat the program in raising the whole scene above the horizon to get more sky into the picture, but Bryce is more clever than I am.
I tried to implement street lines, but haven't managed it. Is there a way to reduce the roads in the template to a simple path in PS?

It does look very cool. You have inspired me to learn Bryce (just downloaded it). I would have liked to have seen some variation in facade style and colour. But I am probably about to find out it is harder to do than I realise.

Thanks Aval. Everything is possible, but it takes time. For the next map in Bryce I think I will know how to do it, the manual is 1500+ pages :).
