I found this wonderful tutorial by Tear ( Saderan - a tutorial ) and as I love his style I will try to give it a shot. So here is the first take at the oceanic body, landmass still all white. I hope I can live up to this tutorial and make the most out of it.
you've got a good start with this nice landmass :)

Very nice so far, Tear's tut is great and you seem to have made a pretty start with it. I'm interested to see how the land features take shape. I also like the landshapes, very nice.

The landmass looks very good. It looks like a natural formation, so that's a good start!

Tear's excellent tutorial is always a good place to start. :)
Looking forward to how this will develop, right now you're definitely on the right track.

So here is another nightly build. I played around with the various settings to avoid th bluriness senn in other attempts on this tut as I donīt like that. The mountains seem to blend at a higher zoom, seeing the whole picture they are a bit set off. Just my feeling?

So here is the river layout final. I start to see blue lines across my kitchentable. Wanted to show it to experienced eyes to spot errors or give CC ( lakes may be a topic... ). So here it is, with rivers. I love my bamboo fun pen and touch.

The relief effect on the lakes is too strong for my taste, but the rivers look good.

I concur with Katto on the lakes, the rest of the maps looks fine.

You are absolutly right about the lakes. I did not want to finalize the shape and layout without some feedback. So the next step will be to fix that. THX for CC

Nightly Build with some vegetation. Perhaps I will include some texture variation into this map, but i knda like it the way it is.

Iīm working on the placements of cities and villages. The problem I face that I donīt understand how to create a pattern of my "symbols", i just copy and paste and generate layer after layer. But that canīt be the solution. Suggestions welcome.

Got some work done. Placing major cities ( white border ) and settlements trying to get it look "natural" is a pain in ... Once you get it right I think it is quiet(?) satisfying. CC as always welcome.

Looks pretty awesome so far. There is some noticeable tiling in the forests though...

You are are right, I did not notice it so far. Most noticable is the vertical line in the "Saldeeris Becken", its seamles but clearly visible once you spotted it. Iīll try to break it up. THX for the advice.

A little update. Iīm not sure about the text background for the ocean ( not my idea, inspiration by one of the maps around here ). I like it but I donīt know if I can say itīs final. Forest tileing is still an issue. I tuned down the colours a little bit, the previous version was very "lively". I will finish this one soon because at some point itīs better to have a clean slate and new approaches. Still more often than not itīs "Iīll be back".

There is a "final" version of my map Tarnath Kontinent in the finished map section with placenames.

I seem to have lost my post, so if you see I've posted twice it just means I'm senile.
I love the map, though I don't love the labels. I don't hate them either, they just don't thrill me like the rest of the map does. The text in the background feels out of place on this. That's a technique that I really like, and you did it very well and subtly, just seems out of place.
