Nice! What's going on with the extensive sea ice?

I had received a sketch from the client, which was generated by some program. I turned it into a satellite style map, but kept the original shapes of the land as well as the ice.

It looks like the sort of map created by fractal mapping software. At a guess I'd say Fractal World Mapper which comes with the AstroSynthesis (http://www.nbos.com/products/astro/astro.htm) star mapping software from NBOS (http://www.nbos.com/). The AstroSynthesis software is a great 3D star mapping software. The included Fractal World Mapper creates maps similar to the one posted in this thread, and I've often found it a good starting place.

That icy tendril in the north really intrigues me for some reason

Fractal Mapper does indeed leave those big white marks across the poles when you're in gaia view. I had to avoid using gaia view because of that. My world is tropical.
