View Full Version : The West - Updated and Labeled

Hey there,

This is an updated version of the map that I and others have been working on for years really.

This one I did (save the volcano/lake/river of fire in the lower right corner, total credit to Coyotemax on those!) using a mix of brushes (Wag's and StarRaven's) as well as the techniques from Ascensions "Antique" tutorial... obviously I didn't follow it to the letter, but over all I think it works :)

I would uploaded it here, but it is just too darn big!

P.S. I should also mention that the labeling is based on techniques I learned from here and specifically from Coyotemax in our various projects! :)

That's beautiful work. That inner shadow on the ocean labeling works very well.

Yeah that's a Coyotemax trick :)

Same, try uploading on the CG's server for ease.

My host is acting up, I will fix when I get home.

As for uling here it is 3000x3000 at 20megs. Not sure it can be uled here.

3000 x 3000 is fine it's the megabytes. To get around that, when you "save as jpeg" in PS you will see a slider that goes from 1 to 12...that's the image quality slider. Move that down to 11 then 10, sometimes 9 is needed to get those megabytes down...got to be like 4.7 megabytes. The actual quality lost can't really be seen until you get down to like 6. Nearly every map I do is uploaded at 10 or 11 and a few have been 9s.

This is quite nice.

Thank you very much sir :)

Personally I am only "content" with it. I am commissioning someone to redo it in the "Lord of the Rings" map style that they used in the Fellowship of the Ring (Bilbo's maps).

I think that will look sexy as hell!
