What a great reference picture! Where is that? It looks Scandinavian to me although I don't know why.

Great pic, thx for posting.

It's actually perfect terrain for the bits of my setting on which I'm currently focused...thanks for sharing!

I'm begining to wonder whether it's clever CGI....

Very clever, if so - the artist should be looking up a position at DreamWorks. The buildings *are* pretty crisp but that boat and the wake would be awfully hard to do in "post" and why would it be there without that lovely village nearby? Also, why go to all that trouble to just make a mundane village? I'd have put in a big old sci-fi arcology or something if I had those skillz! :)

Well if RE isn't telling then I'm going to post it on the Cartotalk boards and see if they know!

Amazing, a guy on Cartotalk took a picture of the image from his computer screen on his Iphone and ran it through a google image search app and it returned the location. It was taken at Lofoten, Reine, Moskenes, Norway.

Haha, sorry for not keeping up with this thread, whenever I see interesting maps or images, I just post 'em and forget em... oops.

I still don't see any images in this thread. I guess I'll go look up the location.

I also don't get the image.... I had to go to the page source to get the image URL:
No idea why it's not showing up inline...
