I'm looking for some kind of raw earth maps- particularly height maps. What I'd like to do is use these as source data for a procedural terrain generator. Does anyone have some good, somewhat detailed earth topography maps?

http://www.vterrain.org is a good source for data links, papers on the subject, and code samples.
