View Full Version : Second try at hand drawing

As I´m not very good at drawing things by hand but absolutely love hand drawn maps I gave it a shot after reading this short post about I think one of torstans workflows. I also heeded Ascencions tip for taking a small canvas to try things out ( otherwise one maybe gets swamped ;) ). I´m just at the begining to understand a few things about colours and brushes but wanted to share my first try.

It's very nice for a try! If you had not said that it's a try, I'd thought it's a nice map.
You should persevere! ;)

That's very nice indeed. I agree with adunakhor - definitely worth pursuing!

Looks very good! The color palette looks quite real as is non-digital. Gave me a D&D/AD&D flashback and all :)

OK. You got me. I will turn this into a little regional map, adding some cities and perhaps a few roads. Off to work with me and thanks for the encouragement!

So here is a little update, a city symbol and a namescroll, going to do more in that direction. It turns out nicer ( I prefer dark designs ) than I intended to but I will follow down this road ;)

A little update on my experiment...Wizard Tower, roads, a border and a mine.
Very nice looking! I just adore it, especially the mountains and forest! Great job!
