09-22-2011, 12:48 AM
Hi all,
I'm going to call this city map finished. This was a commission for BlackStar Studios' Shadowlands campaign setting (Facebook: BlackStar Studios (http://www.facebook.com/pages/BlackStar-Studios/115204471879374)and Twitter: @BlackStarGames). You can see the WiP thread here (http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?12991-WiP-Tarina-for-BlackStar-Studios...). Hope you like it!

Edit: Added some more images, responding to requests for zoom! :)

wow! This looks like a google maps screenshot, super realistic. Great job man! The map must be huge to get a detailled looking result like this. cheers, DJ

Man. That has got to be among the most gorgeous cartography projects I've seen.

Yeah, I don't know what to say about this one....incredible detail and it does look like a photograph

09-22-2011, 06:08 AM
Woah! This looks awesome. Too bad it's too small a size to see more of the real city details. I really hope BlackStar Studios will put up a high res. Jpg or pdf on their website!
Have some Rep! Edit: hmm, as it seems i have to spread around some rep before i can rep you again.

Impressive work Mearrin!

I'll echo Arsheesh, very impressive, man. But you always do great cities so I'm not surprised.

Incredible work! Really wonderful!

09-22-2011, 04:22 PM
Thanks very much!

it's a stunner - good work!

09-22-2011, 11:21 PM
That is great, man. I'm with Eilathen though; hope we can see a bigger version sometime.

09-23-2011, 12:40 AM
I'll see if BlackStar will let me put a bigger version up. I went to 50% on this one, which is larger than I normally post...but it still falls short. I've gone back to my post and added some zoomed-in views (100%) of a few areas - check the first post of this thread if you want to see them.

Thanks again for the nice comments!

Hopefully they do. I'd love to see this one in a bigger resolution. Really lovely map :)

Wonderful stuff, man. Crazy detailed. My sphincter puckers at the mere thought of attempting a city map like that. :S

what.. no street view? Get on that!

seriously though, this is i think the most realistic fantasy city map I've seen.

**bows to the master**

((dangit, won't let me rep you twice...))

Amazing map, It looks like it was taken from a satellite! Repped and rated!

09-24-2011, 08:37 PM
I'm stunned. uh, WOW! Amazing work... kudos to you!

Congratulations on finishing this large project! Fantastic work.

09-25-2011, 07:23 AM
This is just incredible work. Very clearly the best city map I've ever seen. If I had any, I'd pay good money to learn how to make maps like these. Wow! Adding to my 'inspiration' folder for sure!

Street view? Hmmm. I'm sort of planning on doing that with Haibianr...but it's a project that'll take me ages!

Again, I really appreciate all of the nice comments. Thanks!
