Hi, I'm Lyn. I'm a a novice at world-building and map-making, being primarily a writer, but in diving into learning con-langing, I've ended up learning about map-making too, and would like to lurk and stare in awe at the beautiful maps here.

Feel free to lurk, but also feel free to jump in! There's lots of good tutorials and you can also ask pretty much anyone for advice as you learn.

Welcome to the guild!

Ditto what Torstan said - if you think of a bunch of these cartographers as Masters, remember that a Master also needs Apprentices (well, minions too, but I won't go there...). Only, see, you're now IN the Guild, and all the secrets of mapmaking are available, if you can just slave away for seven years.... no, wait, my analogy is breaking down. How 'bout "plenty of these Really Masterful Mappers' Mysterious Methods are right there in the tutorials and in-thread help". Grab a likely tutorial and dive in!

I like the thought of having a few slaves for seven score years ... the blessed Vile Ones would be most glad of such a sacrifice and shower me with boons were I to bring them such servitors.
