Beautiful! Really like the way you braided lines :) I would love to see some slightly decoration on the circular part...

Hmm ... I could probably make a celtic chain pattern, they're easy enough to do and I *should* practice patterns more.

looks great lukc - I agree with razcor - maybe some work on the outer circle :)

It looks beautiful. I love knotwork and similar designs.

It does have a, for lack of a better term, "off balance" quality though. The points are at 45 degree intervals, but the lines leading to them and the visual centrelines of the arms don't line up with them and it kind of disrupts the ability to see which direction they are meant to indicate.

Hai-Etlik - I know - it throws the eye of, but the points actually line up perfectly (I double checked!). I'm not sure if I want to keep it looking off balance or not ... in a way it's a neat kink. Maybe I'll add a few lozenges for the directions and a few radials to show the precise degrees, that should clear up the balance issue.

You might try making the centre point a bit clearer. Without a straight edge to line up with, you want the centre and points as precise as possible and that cross shape is kind of fat.

It's just big boned! It's not fat! :(

Hey, this will look great on the right map and I think it's kind of awesome how you've inadvertently created an optical illusion.

PS. your last comment made me laugh.

Well ... while I like the other one, I've gone and made one that's closer to my goal and purpose ... Although this one does kind of make the eyes hurt to look at.

Person who counts the number of braids first gets a cookie! :)

Now which one to finish off as my entry. ... Hmmm ...

And here it is, applied to a leather texture.

Nice, the all black is a bit harsh, but this colored version is good.

Eh, the black version is just a plain one-color .png with a transparency, for ease of use - if someone wants to use it! :)

Six,

1 = N,S,E,W points and half the outer circle.
2 = NE,SE,SW,NW points and half the outer circle
3-6 = four braids each form a small cross that is linked to a point on braid 2.

(i like cookies).

Naw, this is the Cartographers' Guild, just sketch a quick map and I'll find it myself. ;)

I whipped up a quick cookie hunt map ... this is actually a ridiculously fast technique! :O

The whole island looks like a gigantic halfdrowned cookie with dust and fungus on it.... but that's probably not the solution is it? I can't find any X

Lukc
02-10-2012, 11:18 AM
Eh, I didn't know where it was ... so I didn't put an X! :(

Now why didn't you use the new rose you just created on this so you can show it in action?
