I could not resist those blobs. Kind of hypnotising. Have fun.

Edit: Something about image quality, IŽhave this new scanner ( Canon Lide 210 ) and IŽm not happy with the scan settings. I hope it will improve as I play with them to discover the best "fit" for tasks like this.

Try the RGB scan mode rather than black and white. RGB (and grayscale) will give you nice smooth edges; black and white will be all jaggedy. For those times when you really want lots of dynamic range, use 16-bit compoents rather than 8-bit and manipulate the images in something like Photoshop before you downconvert to 8-bit. It can make a world of difference.

Thanks for the advice, will give it a try. I worked nonetheless and continued foreward on the road of learning.

The LiDE series of Canon scanners is pretty nifty, but the auto-tone it keeps trying to push on you is horrible. Disable it whenever possible! :)

Something new for my entry. I had no time playing with scan settings but thanks! Iwill keep the advice in mind.

I recommend just turning off auto-tone in the scanner software and then using your graphics software for tonal control.

Created a compass and droped it in....
I fear by following the blob layout I got the composition a bit wrong. The center is much to empty for my taste. An island or something is missing but I donŽt want to add. Perhaps I should have enlargend the sea area surrounding the Valma Islands. IŽll have to keep that in mind for future projects. It feels good to have done everything bey myself, except of course the font. WouldnŽt have made it without the CG! THX everyone.

I don't think the middle looks empty at all, looks good to me :)

If you find the center too empty, put a decorative ship or sea monster there.

Broke my hand with the ship. But I like it in the end. CC welcome in these final stages.

Love the clean, artistic style but why not blue rivers? :)

The rivers have been sketched in the b/w drawing. But IŽll give the blue a chance ;)

Hmm, I think that ship is freakin me out. Everything else seems to have that side on look and then there is a ship coming straight at my eyes. If it's just me don't worry about it but if anyone else agrees you may want to try more of a side view.

Btw, I dig the sea monster!

The ship is nagging at me, too. I really like the way it turned out but th fit is not quite right. I hope I can do another version because it takes a lot of time for me. IŽm a absolute beginner with drawing ;) Perhaps IŽll drop it altogether. 3 days, something should be possible.

No peace for me. Did some digging for reference material and whipped up a ship solution. I think it will look better the new way. THX Jaxilon.

Like the sideways ship much better. :) Looks good, like it belongs in a children's storybook or something.
