I need one more iron in the fire like another hole in my head ... but I just can't resist.

So I want to build something like this plan (The Pantheon):
45435

Using something like this section (Chartres Cathedral):

Coming along very nicely. I bet this design would look quite pretty as a scaled-down model... if you ever feel like building one.

Are you going to add color to the glass?

I agree with Chashio. I think Low opacity tints over the glass would make this already great map really POP!

Hey that is coming along nicely. I agree, you should try coloring the glass windows as that might look really cool.

Thanks all.
I planned on adding shadows, rendering materials, color tinting windows, a small axonometric view and a front elevation to show off the other window designs ... but two 60 hour weeks at work sucked all of the wind from my sails.

I think that this will have to be good enough for the contest.
I'll finish it up after the contest and post it to the finished projects section.

Are those actual shrunken stain glass designs or did you draw them from scratch? You might have missed your calling :O

A bit of both.
I clipped images that I liked from Stained Glass Patterns (in B&W), traced over parts and recombined them into new compositions.
Then I selected colors from photographs of birds and sunsets and beach scenes.

Did you like the transition from flowers at the base to birds in the middle and sun/moon at the top?

I missed that but now that you mention it what a good idea. You should find a way to indicate this in your level names or something. (Earth, wind, sky or something like that).
