Very nice. Just the sort of thing I'd produce myself if my talents leaned at ALL in that direction.

as bizarre as this concept might sound. im shooting for a rustic old pirate map which has through magical means a 3d virtual star map. like something out of Harry Potter.

Looking great. I really like the colours.

ultimately i hope this map will eventually be online, every objest on the map will be a clickable link that will bring you to a zoomed in map and description of each location. the planetary maps will also be zoomable into region maps and so fourth. of course i have zero web programing skills.

im starting to feel like the map should be a laid out on a table 3d style with the planetary objects floating over it. i might have to start from scratch.

That's downright awesome! I love the mix of science and fantasy. I'm trying to work on a star map of my own, but a more traditional solar system view. Any suggestions for how to make it look nice?

i think its all about making the colors pop. black background with real light auras.

I love this map. May I ask what tools you used to produce it? You've really got the nebulosity of the nebulaes dialed! Oh if only I could spell spacical things...
