Hi guildies :)

I just wanted to say that my website ghmaps.net (http://ghmaps.net)has opened.

Not much to look at yet, but there are the latest versions of my maps and one new rather cool (and big) map!

Wow, really nice work. And "big" is a bit of an understatement. At 22 megs that map is MASSIVE. hehehe

Wow, can't believe I haven't replied to this thread yet, even though I have been posting it on other Greyhawk Sites I frequent.

Very VERY nice maps Anna!

Thank you all for your interest and great replies :D

More is coming, and thanks to the great inspiration I get from all you guys here at the Guild and all the Greyhawk experts at Canonfire.com I will be able to make even better Greyhawk maps and illustrations in the future.

I will repay you guys with more tutorials, promise!

Anna,

That megamap is very nice! You might want to consider the new DeepZoom (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=457b17b7-52bf-4bda-87a3-fa8a4673f8bf&displaylang=en) system that's part of the Silverlight 2 beta from MS. It's a tool that makes it pretty easy create a "level of detail" type of system that seamlessly shifts the viewer to higher and higher resolution maps as they zoom in. I use it on for my personal map (which is 12000 x 15000 pixels...but is copyrighted by someone else so I can't publish on the web.) The effect is very like Google Earth, but I found it easier to setup.

Try it out using this software (http://www.codeproject.com/KB/silverlight/DecosDeepZoom.aspx) or on the Hard Rock Memorabilia (http://www.codeproject.com/KB/silverlight/DecosDeepZoom.aspx) site.

But anyway, that's a very nice map. I look forward to seeing more!

Great Idea!

I have looked at other tools to do something like it. But I haven't had the time to implement any of them on my site yet.

But sooner or later I will give ghmaps.net a makeover and make sure I present my work better.

New things are on their way to my site and presented here on the guild forum this week. I have been hard at work mapping and finnaly it's beginning to be ready to present :)
