Hi, my name is James Cummins but online I go by the name Seiun. For almost a year now I've been working on a custom setting as a hobby and labor of love, and recently I've been working on the world map. I found your community with a few google searches, and hopefully I can find some help and constructive criticism here for my work, in order to help it be the best it can be!

I used to hunt through various fractal landmass generation programs trying to find the "perfect" one, but I've come to the decision to do all my maps by hand using the mouse and photoshop, and I'm finding the control it gives me extremely rewarding. There's a new version of my current world map (http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=2159) in the world map section of the forums, and if anyone has any interest or feedback they'd like to give on its current state, that would be grand.

Glad you came in, James. Looks like over at the other post are getting some good feedback. I hope it helps, and I hope you give as much good advice to others as you get!

Welcome!

Hi James, welcome to the Guild. Think about getting a pen and tablet, it adds a new dimension to mapping!

Thanks, I did put a lot of thought into it and decided to pick up a wacom 6x8 intuo3. Just ordered it off amazon, they seem to be on sale right now.
