Hello Everyone,

I'm totally new to this forum. and would appreciate any pointers on how to go about creating 3D maps of the style shown on these pages:

Tourist Map of Belarus - North-West - Braslav Lakes Complex (http://tobelarus.com/plan/maps-of-belarus-and-eastern-europe/3d-view-belarus-map/1-history-sights.html)
Tourist Map of Belarus - South-West - Belovegskaya Pushcha - Brest - Grodno (http://tobelarus.com/plan/maps-of-belarus-and-eastern-europe/3d-view-belarus-map/south-west.html)

Woking Tourist Map - Woking Surrey (http://mappery.com/map-of/Woking-Tourist-Map)

I'm proficient with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. However, if there are software programs, templates or techniques that would ease my way, I'd be grateful to know about them.

Thanks,

Brythael

Some of those are birds eye perspectives, others like like normal scale maps with birds eye view symbols.

There isn't really any trick to drawing them, you just have to draw them. For the birds eye view you could use some sort of 3D graphics tool to render a conventional scale map in 3D, and then draw over top of it, though ideally you'd want to drape it over a DEM. For the second kind, you could take a scale map as is, trace over it, and then draw in your symbols,
