Has anyone run across a site or book or blog post, etc, that covers the technical processes and points of interest in the art of traditional woodcut/block-printing maps... or illustrations in general, but specifically maps and their various forms of depiction and style?

Mainly just curious if there is such a work on the subject.

You might find something here (http://www.bl.uk/reshelp/bldept/maps/index.html), or do a google search for wood cut maps. Thats what I did to end up at that link.

If you want a more scholarly treatment, look at Five centuries of map printing by David Woodward.

Here's a review about it. (http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/00690805.1978.10438015#.UZgX3ZXOmb8)
