I will use David Brin's novel Brightness Reef, which includes a simple b/w map of a part of the planet Jijo.

I can only recommend the Uplift books - milestones of science fiction in my opinion.

I think apart from some polishing and details here and there this map is nearly finished.

I think the Font looks too simimlar to each other, curved text with more Space between the letters would be Great at the natural features name. Also the compass is a bit too graphical compared to your painterly style. All in all a great and hxperspeed work! I am honestly impressed.

Mostly i should be even more carefull about fonts. I have never been a good typograph.

@Sapiento: i would like to see more in your new style. Its realy interesting to see different and new styles from people whose work I now know for several years.

Thank you, SK, good idea for the labels.
I'm currently experimenting with painterly styles, so I guess I have a new map project soon available.

And here's the update.

Looks great, man. The only (super minor) critique I have is that the letter 'r' in the text of 'Glaciers' is sitting over a line in the glacier itself that makes it look like it says 'Glaciens'.

I shifted the label. I also tried another texture for the map.
