Is this ready to go into the wiki?

It's been waiting for years!

It's been waiting for years!

We'll have to get an Op to fix it. I tried to upload it, but keep getting errors for whatever reason.

Specifically:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 16292 bytes) in /home/content/c/a/r/cartoadmin/html/cwbp/includes/media/Bitmap.php on line 168

No idea how to fix that or even what it means....perhaps one of the more puter literate can help, or if you pm Gamerprinter he might be able to email it to you.

Almost looks like the board software ran out of memory that it could allocate, but don't quote me on that :)

Arcana's looking into it, but if I had to guess I'd agree with you.

Finally got this one into the wiki. It didn't like the original file for some reason... too big I think, so I reduced the file size and it took it just fine.

Here's (http://cwbp.cartographersguild.com/index.php?title=House_of_the_Dead) the link. The page needs some tuning and some links added, but I'll get to that in a bit.

Anymore story you can add to it?

You could tie the undead as being worshipers of Dyrge if you wanted...though they may have another name for him.

Might be worth mentioning the title of the map 'the Lair of Lassardrak' in the text and saying who Lessardrak is or might be!

It's great to see that the CWBP editors are still going strong on the entries!

Ok. So who might it be? ;)

I have no idea....make something up!!! Use your imagination!

That's great, but I'd rather use yours. ;) Seriously, I'll come up with something. Probably some mysterious being touched by the dark gods (hence the undead) and some other creepy stuff.

Or maybe just an enigma that no one knows for sure if he really exists or not.

Might want to check with GamerPrinter - that was his creation wasn't it? He may have some more info for it.

That's a good point, GP drew the map - he might be able to add some colour to it! I like the creepy stuff though!!

Since I didn't develope a religion or chose a deity to worship, I figure that's up to Ravs and the developers of his nation, however, whichever evil greater power there is in the CWBP world, with something to do with the undead, Lhessadrak was a human follower while alive, and became the greatest and only pontiff of that dark church.

Throughout his life, he desired immortality and prayed for such on a daily basis to his dark master, having discovered a secret meeting that planned who would be the next pontiff, when Lhessadrak passes beyond was too much. He chose to sacrifice those having this discussion in a great ritual to summon the wisdom of his deity, and learned the secret to Lichdom.

After a decade gathering the material components necessary to create the poison to kill/tranform him into a lich, Lhessadrak performed the ritual and is now still the only pontiff of that church, since he first took the role over 1300 years ago.

His church and followers had been ostracized from their original home (which has not been recorded.) They learned that an unnatural druidic rite had been in the swamp region in the south, and sought to establish a demonic stronghold there. Lhessadrak's predecessors built the temple fortress.

After achieving Lichdom, Lhessadrak, made the temple his permanent home.

One thing to note, despite being an evil church, and one that deals with undead, the church has a largely lawful alignment protocol regarding actions outside the church. Lhessadrak has formed agreements with non-followers that he upholds on his side, of course loopholes and contract breaches will bring his full dark wrath on those who do not follow the letter of the contracts.

What else do you want to know?

We do have a deity for the undead in the pantheon, Dyrge - though he can be known by different names depending on the region. He has both living undead as clergy so Lhessadrak would fit right in.

I agree, Dyrge and Lhessadrak are a good fit.

Sounds like we've got a new project for 12rounds. ;)

Thanks, GP, for the insight. Your description fits nicely with the image I had in my mind, and that he's a lich only makes it sweeter.

There will probably end up being two separate wiki entries out of this: one for Lhessadrak's house/temple, and one for Lhessadrak himself. In fact, I know there will be... because I'm going to create them right now. ;)

I'm repping IndustryGothica for his role as pen-master of the CWBP - after my creating two of the promised three regional maps (ahem), and posting my Lair of Lhessadrak map to the Abandoned Maps thread. I've only created the most basic background information on the regions I mapped. With the million and a half of my own projects both professionally and personally, I never find time to commit to the CWBP.

And IndustryGothica remains "behind the curtains" so unless we're looking, few truly appreciate the work that's being done, myself included. So, I duly REP you IG - for doing the kind of work, I have no time for! :(

Besides, IG looks shy of the REP required! ;)

I agree. Hear Hear. IG has been putting a huge amount of time into the wiki. Repped.

Hey, thanks. I appreciate that.

So does anyone mind if I tweak the story a bit here and there to make Lhessadrak and the history of the Dark Marshes meld a bit more seamlessly? Mostly a timeline issue, and maybe who originally built the house... nothing too serious. And I am envisioning some sort of unholy union between Lhessadrak and the sorceress queen, but I haven't quite pieced it together in my mind yet. I'd like the chance to play with it though, if no one minds if I mess with it a bit.

I only offered the background that I originally created for the map - now that it belongs to the CWBP, change it to best fit the setting. "The ball is in your hands, so do with it what you will!"

Same with the pantheon. It was one that I had created, and I'm sure it has stuff in it that doesn't fit the CWBP so feel free to modify it to best suit your needs.
