Hello. Im attempting to make my own campaign world. I have read through HandsomeRobs tutorials, and I love the style, but have been having problems.

I was wondering if people could provide assitance. The biggest problem I am having is being able to create the world geography, ie, the continents, islands, ect, ect.

Could I please have some help/advice, or even expansions upon tutorials. Perhaps Mr. Rob could show me how he made his world map.

Thanks for listening to me :)

HandsomeRob's world map was made with Profantasy's FRACTAL TERRAIN program.

There is a DEMO version of the software available at their site:

The resolution size on the saved maps is not very large, but it may allow you to find something you like to work with. If so, there are other's of us on this forum with paid versions of the software that could take the world settings and make a more detailed world map to work from.

I have it already. Im not talking about the regional maps (although thanks heaps for responding) Im talking more about a global map. I know that is what fractal terrain is supposed to do, but it never produces a result that I like.

OK, you've lost me. What do you need/mean by a global map? Like something like this:

Yes. Something that has all the continents and islands. All the maps I generate with FT dont look like what I want, so I was wondering if people have ideas/tips/tutorials on how to create an overland/overworld (as opposed to regional - overworld being the earth, regional being australia, new south wales, africa, america, ect) map

Well, with FT, what I did when I wanted to make my new World Map, was start the program, and select MAP > WORLD SETTINGS,

From there, select the second tab, and play with the sliders to make a world.

Then follow the Tutorial at this Link:

to make some cool maps once you have a world you like.
