I tried to improve on my first map. My goals were: draw free-hand mountains and trees with my Wacom Bamboo:D .

I also wanted to try Jeremy Elford's aging techniques which I think worked beautifully. Thanks Jeremy. Here is the tutorial:

I would like to improve my color palette in the future and also move closer to the coast. I want to tackle some of the coastline regions in the Charleston area from the 1650-1800's.

Thanks.

I do look forward to working with a lighter background and trying the "altceva" style, here http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=2426&highlight=ship.

The link above to me represents a very unique art form and I want to try it. It is the most striking image I have seen in a long time. I will do my best to imitate it and give the originator full credit for the inspiration.

beautiful mountains... I really like those, more of a painting than a map IMO... great job!
