Just getting started with the backdrop. Was just in the process of watching ST:TNG season by season, so this challenge was perfect!

Interesting and painterly style, here. I know the "splatters" are deliberate and I can appreciate why you used them, but I can't get over the feeling like I'm looking at a nebula through a dirty window, or vid screen.

Don't operate a star chart with a head cold - sneezing makes it hard to see.

Ouch, I know, sorry. Still I like the artistic feel of the work.

I think I can see what you mean. I was experimenting with a couple brushes to represent denser pieces of the nebula, but maybe that one isn't the right choice. ;) Thanks for the feedback!

This is turning out to be a real beauty, rkmase. I like the Bokay lighting on the right hand side a lot.

Much improved! Your larger and concentration of stars don't look like sneeze splatter anymore - good job.

Thanks for the critiques and compliments all. Still trying to figure out if this is 'done' or not ;)

I absolutely love the transparent overlapping rounded squares. This has some serious visual interest going on. I like this one a whole heckuva lot.
