View Full Version : Cathedral of feathers

Shackled City Adventure Path, 6th adventure called "Test of the Smoking eye" takes places in a strange abyss plane called Occipitus.
It was once part of Mount Celestia, so parts of the heavens remain in a corrupted way.
Here is the "cathedral of feathers" when a "celestial flashback" occurs :

The only thing that "bugs" me is the transition from the stairs into the "foyer", I think you should have kept the texture the same...just a thought.

Gotta agree with the General there, it looks a little arbitrary and "cut off". Otherwise it's cool.

This is a beautiful cathedral. You've really done excellnt work on it. I have to agree with Stell General's statement about the change in texture between the stairs and foyer. Other than that, though, it is a beauty.
I am very interested in your textures as they appear to be the type I'm looking for to use on a temple I'm creating. Would you be willing to share where you got them?
Wow! Really good work.
I like what you did with the windows.

Beautiful map! I love the forced perspective with the chairs.

Only thing buggin me is that the feathers are bigger than in any of the statues. So I'd shrink em down a lil bit but otherwise, looks very nice.

You know what they say, big feathers, big...well err I gotta go! :D

I like the library. Where did you get the books to put on the shelves?

Nice work ! This looks a lot like a temple to me - thought about entering it for the ICE challenge ?

Thank you for your advices (as precious as always). I am quite in a hurry (Playing soon and others maps/files to create) so I won't polish this one further since it lats only 1 round (playing D&D) orver 10...
Concerning the textures, I long forgot where I grab them. Using photoshop, they are in the *.pat files, and I do not know how to extract them...
And now the basic map on the corrupted Occipitus layer.
The structure is tilted with an horizontal slope (up at right, down at left), I had troubles to represent...Does it works?
The red halos are the red light of Occipitus sky trough the holes in the ceiling.
The statue should be an Orcus one but I just added what I found in the dundjinni forums.

Now that's a smashed up temple, wicked cool.

Cool. I would add a red glow outside of the temple if its the sky color.

Good point! I just forgot to make the red light outside...
