Hey everybody... long time no see
Due to my studies and a lot of exams I had to more or less cut off most of my usual internet-activities and had to start preparing for exams 24/7 instead. fortunately this is over now.
I'm currently working on a new version of my 'Harogard'-map (http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=3838&highlight=harogard) ... big time!
This time it'll show lot more of the surrounding land.
Here's what it looks like right at the moment:

The whole thing is at the moment done with Inkscape. It's completely vectorised!

Looking forward to seeing how this progresses. I just followed your link to your previous thread and I was very impressed with the map you posted there. :)

So far so good, I'd say.

Really nice!

The great thing about getting older is that you don't have to do any exams anymore and pull those long hours...until you have children.

Make the most of your window of opportunity and post lots of maps!

I know we like to have as large and high-rez image as possible to look at but gods man that is huge! :)

Coming along quite nicely though...

the level of detail (Names of places, regions, mountain ranges, forests, rivers, oceans, isles etc. are yet to come) makes the resolution necessary

Long time no progress .... the RP-Group for which I draw this map has suffered from some internal struggles and in the aftermath did some major changes to their geography. As I am still waiting for some intel before finishing this map I decided to put the whole thing on ice.

I love greyscale work. Very nice individual styling and very clean. Hope it comes off ice soon!

Broken Ice ... I just finished the last bits of vector based work. the rest of the work will be done in GIMP adding some neat mountain- and tree brushes, some parchment background and some watercolor coloring effects:

Great work! I have a feeling that Sidonia isn't supposed to be floating out from the corner like that though...

You're right. I'm going to draw a box around Sidonia and make a note that it actually lies 500 miles in the south...
