Boing just posted that you can now use advanced image search to look for creative commons stuff and other free licensed images. Dont know quite how it knows - maybe it looks for links on the same page to the license or maybe it uses an image extraction on the BY-NC-SA bit... well whatever they're doing - this is a big deal.

Hah hah hah - this is classic. I did a search for "map icons"

http://images.google.com/images?as_q=map+icons&hl=en&btnG=Google+Search&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&imgtype=&as_filetype=&as_sitesearch=&as_rights=(cc_publicdomain|cc_attribute|cc_shareal ike|cc_noncommercial).-(cc_nonderived)&safe=images&as_st=y&gbv=1&ei=emhWStPwGY-sjAeK3MTWAg

Look at image #10.

Laugh or cry - I dunno. Laugh I guess... :(( :((

Someone who painted that barrow for me on my site... In fact looking at all the pages (I get 4 of them once you click through) then there are 4 out of the 63 images in total are from my site. I just thought it was a bit sad that I do a search for something pretty generic like map icons and get a significant proportion of the images from my site. Its as though mine is one of just a handful of sites out there - like, where the hell are all the rest of them ???
