I found this in my research and took the short test:

http://www.blogthings.com/whatsyourmedievalprofessionquiz/

The results?

You Are a Cartographer

You have a wide range of knowledge and you're very detail oriented. You have a photographic memory, and you remember places very well.

Like a middle ages cartographer, you're also very adventurous and curious about the world. In modern times, you would make a good non-fiction writer or scientist.

Heh

Oh wait, I know what it means. It means I'm the guy who figures out that if you click SUBMIT without clicking any of the questions' radiobuttons, you always get the result of Astrologer.

Oh sure, you guys get Cartographer and Astrologer ... and I'm a rat catcher >.<

Rats need catching Gidde. Yours is a valued and necessary minimum-wage vocation.

Gidde

Thanks ;P

To be fair, the modern vocations it listed were in fact more up my alley, lol.

I got astrologer as well. Then I went back and changed the answers and saw that cartographer and astrologer come up a lot, got one messenger and one rat catcher. When I answered opposite of what I should I got cartographer.

I got Cartographer as well. I thought I would get 'over-educated bum' but that's a more modern profession than a Medieval profession.

That could easily be replaced with 'a member of the nobility' :)

Playwright. So, historically speaking, only slightly better than rat-catcher in terms of how medieval society views me.

Cartographer...

Despite the fact that I'm probably the least prolific cartographer on these boards... :(

I suspect it's because I said I'd rather play with my pets than write in my journal.

Astrologer here... Which perfectly makes sense, actually.

Rat-catcher here, too.

Jester, if I go to parties, Playwright if I write in my journal (I couldn't choose between the two). The jester's description really doesn't describe me at all :D, the playwright seems to be way more like me.

Playwright for me, that's about right.

And because I was in an important conference where I needed to pay attention, I naturally went searching for other such quizzes, and came up with this link.

...and got Benevolent Ruler...Guess tyrannical despot was taken :D

I took the new test and I got "Shepherd"

You understand the needs of those for whom you are responsible. Shepherds are vigilant and reliable. You realize your obligation and commitment to the well being of those entrusted to your care. Shepherds are very dependable. You engender a feeling of comfort and stability to those within your charge. On the positive side, Shepherds can be empathic, caring, understanding, practical and realistic. On the negative side, you may be manipulative, close-minded and sentimentally rigid. Interestingly, your preference is just as applicable in today's corporate kingdoms.

On the new test I got Discoverer ... I like this one a lot better than rat-catcher ;)

Your distinct personality, The Discoverer, might be found in most of the thriving kingdoms of the time. Your overriding goal is to go where no one else has ever gone before. Regardless of the number of available natural problems to be solved, it is not unusual for you to continually challenge yourself with new situations or obstacles that you have created. You are an insatiable explorer of people, places, things and ideas. You thrive on constant change and anything new or different. On the positive side, you can be creatively rational as well as open minded and just. On the negative side, you might be an impractical and indecisive procrastinator. Interestingly, your preference is just as applicable in today's corporate kingdoms.

Call me Marco "Juggernaut1981" Polo the Discoverer...
Not massively original amongst the mob here but anyway...

Going on history, also has a high death rate...

Benevolent Ruler here too. I think Ascension and I might be soul brothers or something we keep getting the same results in personality tests!

The Prime Minister.

And I particularly like this attribute:

... Inept assistants may be immediately discarded as excess baggage. To do otherwise could be seen as inefficient and illogical...

Rat Catcher Extraordinaire! Got Playwrite when I changed a few things to my second choices. When I went opposite I got Jester.

None of the topics were really up my alley though, there was nothing there for drawing or sculpting. I am pretty sure I would have been a potter or sculptor, all my favorite activities involve doing stuff with my hands.

For kingdomality I got The White Knight

Cartographer...

It was quite surprising to see the job I'm studying for actually in that list :P Asking a student in archaeology if he liked to be an archaeologist? Hell yeah! :P

quiz approved.
