Thanks for joining the challenge!
Looks promising so far... would love to hear some background stuff :)

It has a very 'organic feel' to me..good start!

Deep beneath the earth hideous monsters lurk, waiting to devour adventurers. In between games though, they need to keep their strength up - so they come here to nosh on mushrooms. The large red and yellow variety are particularly delicious - the trolls say they taste like cleric.

Looks like it came out of a Nintendo Video Game - neat stuff.

That is high praise - I thank you. I hope you like this latest offering as well. I've cut away the excessive use of black and added an attempt at flowstone.

I really liked the black. IMO, it looked more professional and realistic than the white you have updated with.

I botched the up the aliasing - changing the background is harder than I thought. Thanks for pointing it out. I want a white variation for a toner saving version, but the black is nice too.

Just when you think you are getting the hang of photoshop - it strikes! :D

I've gone back to a black background, at least until I figure out how to do a nicer conversion.

You might like the following video tutorial on layer masks. This might have saved you some time when changing from black to white to black: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMyaHFxe9Hg

Thanks for the link on layering. It was helpful.

I think this one is my entry.

That is absolutely beautiful and I have already thought of a use for that in my campaign. I love maps like these.

Thank you! I like the lite venue as it provides a shallow end of the pool to learn in. The competition looks pretty fierce here too but it doesn't have the unending roll call of awesomeness that the main contest does. :D

moderators - My entry hasn't been picked up for the thumbnails, did I make a formatting mistake?

Your formatting looks fine from here, just need to wait for someone (RobA?) to run the thumbnail scraper :)
