I created this map for my wife, it is her birthday tomorrow.

I wanted to do something different, instead of getting her a card from the store, I decided to make one myself. So I drew a map of my heart as it relates to her :)

Yeah, it's all mushy.

It's set up to print out on half of an 8x10 glossy, which i will then score and fold in half to make the card, and sign the inside.

Created in 2.5 hours, entirely on my new graphics tablet!

(The title, Te Amo, is Latin for "I Love You" btw.. - at least for the translation I found)

Now that is classy! I hope she adores it.

Very creative. I am sure she will appreciate it.

But if it scores in half, should the title not be on the bottom half?

This bears a striking resemblance to my Platinum Empire map!

Tom, Gandwarf, thanks!

Toff: What I'm doing is printing it out on the left half of the paper, so i can fold it in half and the map will be on the front.

Like a standard greeting card.

*looks up Platinum Empire....*
[edit] Yes, i can definitely see points of similarity. Interesting map! I like it!

Tom, Stel General, thanks!

Are you mistaking me from a guy called "Stel General" now?

Cheater. You do know that as a CL I can view all versions of an edited post? Also, I can restore versions ;)

heh, I got caught up in replying to toff, and added the thanks to the front of the post afterwards, I remembered a G in the name and went with it..

printing it out on the left half of the paper, so i can fold it in half and the map will be on the front.Whew! I was afraid this might have been one of those "Oh no, I can't believe I did this" moments.

I think it's beautiful, and I'm sure she will cherish such a lovingly made card! Cheers!

Well, we did the birthday thing. She being who she is, as soon as midnight hit she **HAD** to open everything :)
the card went over very well. She won't admit it but there were tears of "awwww".

Ipod shuffle, which she asked for. Pink, which she didn't think i would be able to get, but i'm good that way.

And a mounted copy of a watercolour she'd done back in highschool.. she hadn't even remembered doing it till she noticed it was her signature in the corner.. and that's when she fell apart :)

I think for xmas I'm going to get a wallmounted 16x22 version of the Te Amo map. She *loved* it :) Incidentally, the sketch on the lower right is her work, also from highschool.

Incidentally, as another followup, I had an 18x22 version printed and mounted on a wall plaque. She loved it so much she took it and showed it off to her entire family :)

I win!!!
