hi, i'm new here and have no mapping software (i just hand draw my maps) and i was wondering :?: what mapping software is there that works for macs. Prefiribly one that isn't to big (running out of room on our old laptops.)
I'm not sure how much "mapping software" gets used around here. I think the majority of us are running graphics software, and just making maps with it.
The problem with dedicated mapping software is that you'll outgrow it fast.
You won't outgrow graphics software ... not nearly as fast, anyway.

sorry if i wasn't clear, i meant to say graphics software.
Well, of course there's Photoshop & Illustrator ... and Bryce.
You should check to see whether GIMP and Inkscape run on Mac ... and Blender.

If you want it free: Photoshop->GIMP, Illustrator->Inkscape(yeah!), Bryce->Blender.
When you figure out Blender, put up a tutorial. I've done a thing or two in Blender, but it's like polynomial long division. If you stop doing it for a few days, you have to completely relearn it.
Yeah, they all run on Mac. You could also try Art of Illusion in place of Blender. I'd like to meet someone, someday who has actually used that.
