This started as an attempt to emulate the style of the Fable 2 map of Albion. Along the way I added my own style to it and so it ended up as a hybrid. I was about to post this to the Finished section when Sapiento put up a map with the same town brushes that I had so I made my own - can't have two maps with the same towns posted on the same day after all :) I think I'll do a few more like this to evolve the style a bit and see what happens.

I love everything in this map, but especially the fonts and the graphics elements.

Grrr, I can't give you some rep

Very nice map, as per usual. :)

If I had one criticism it would be that the style of the mountains look a little out of place with the rest of the style. They look a little too shiny and digital.
I guess I'm just nitpicking though.

Great stuff.

Another talent explosion from the master. Rep to you Ascension. We're not worthy, we're not worthy.

Awesome map. I love the Fable map (had it on my desktop for some time to be inspired by it too, but I think it will be replaced by your map ;) Especially color and dark/light balance is amazing!

This map is to die for. Repped, rated and saved to my inspiration folder. :)

This map is awesome, I guess I would pick this map over the original Fable II map, even though it's a little different. And I'm kind of curious: how did you make the graphics for towns, cities and towers?

This map definitely earns some rep!

The town icons are a brush set that I have, not sure where I found them, might be here somewhere (mapping elements subforum). The rest I drew (tablet) to be stylistically similar and then put a dull brown in the empty spaces.

Very nice - I like the cast shadows on the town and city symbols - it's a great little touch.

Thought I'd perform a little thread necromancy to ask where you got those amazing textures! I'd love to use them, especially the brown planes and the forest.

As eveyone else has already stated, this is wonderful map. The icons for the towers and population center are fantastic! I also really love the font. Can you tell me where to find it for my own use?

There is Dei Gratia for the big labels (one of my fav fonts to use) and 12th Century Fancy Caps for the smaller stuff. I get nearly all of my stuff from DaFont. (http://www.dafont.com/)

I have to say this is my favorite map i've seen yet. :D Probably because I am a avid Fable fan.

Just such an extraordinary piece of work. It transcends the practicality of map to being wall-mount-worthy.

Thanks, guys. Much appreciated. :)

I love the map, especially the minute details like the long shadows on towers. The fonts are killer as well. It is very reminiscent of Europe, with England and Ireland off to the NW. Yeah, it's nice.

Very nice, as always! But... Why some rivers take start from desert?

What is the icon set used in this map? Can we use it?
