View Full Version : Duchy of Lando

Repost of my January 2010 entry.

The map depicts the Duchy of Lando. In the shield in the left corner you see the flag and the great seal. The letters L.A.I. stand for LAMBERT AGROTECH INTERNATIONAL, a multinational group that produced genetically enhanced food in the 21st century. When the civilization collapsed, the CEO of L.A.I., Markus Lambert gained power in the former state of Florida by providing the starving masses with cheap food, mainly from the newly developed meat plants. These trees produce a fruit that is similar to real meat. The present Duke-Seeyo of Lando, Mar'Kus XXIII, rules with iron fist over his country and exports his precious fruits to most of his neighbors.

Made in PS and Inkscape.

I dunno how you do it, but all your maps look absolutely great, and very much your own style.

A terrific follow-up to an already killer map. Fantastic job, as always.

Cool, but the River Violations on the southern end of 'Florida' make me wonder.

I dunno. Take a look at a map of south Florida. There's some weird stuff going on in the Everglades.

Yeah, I was pointing out some swamp things to someone a few months back and was citing the Everglades cuz those streams are all over the place...basically I was saying that river violations are okay in swamps.

These 'river violations' are a network of artificial channels, I simply added more connections to the existing 'rivers' (if you can call this water roads in a swamp river). The meat plant develops best in a very moist environment. So the swamps of southern Lando are the perfect environment for their cultivation.

Sapiento, have you seen EPA (http://counter-factual.net/upload/forumdisplay.php?f=24) on CF.NET?

I know it. Very well developed timeline! But so far I haven't posted anything on CF.Net, to busy with everything else

As someone who's physically been through some of those ass-backwards, weed-choked creeks, channels, and canals in south Florida, I can personally verify that they're real. :D
