View Full Version : Demon Queen's Enclave

I looked through the maps here and didn't see any maps for the above mentioned adventure. I'm going to be starting this with my group here soon and thought that I'd post the first map. I can make the maps with out the grid numbers. I play with half my group on one side of the country and half on the other and it's way easier for the players to tell me where they move rather than try to see which square they are in through the webcam. These maps are also formatted for a large format printer (Arch C, D and E1). Anyway, this is my style map:

Are you guys interested in the rest?

03-20-2010, 11:37 AM
Nice map. Welcome, and have some rep.

Oh, and we're *always* interested in more maps! :)

03-20-2010, 06:05 PM
I think he meant, anyone else interested in doing the other maps for the adventure... I don't play 4e, so I'm not intereted in making 4e maps (I don't buy WotC products anymore); except as commissions for publishers. Besides, me like most members here work on our own homebrews. NeonKnight is the guy more famous here for creating missing maps of 4e adventures - maybe he'd give you a shot.

03-20-2010, 06:29 PM
Nope, what I meant was, "Would anyone find it helpful to have these maps or should I hoard them for myself."

It'll take me a little while, but I'll be sure to upload the other completed maps. I love a good project.

03-21-2010, 07:06 AM
Ah, hoarding is for dwarven treasure, maps are for sharing, always!

Please share, share, share:I'm sure many of the members here, present company included, would love to have access to more adventure maps.

I don't play AD&D at all but I adapt maps and adventures to my own fantasy RPG campaign. Personally, I love it when people are able to include unlabled versions of their work so it is readily adaptable to my game. Bring it on

Nice work by the way.

03-22-2010, 11:17 AM
yep, bring it on ... one can always use a good map for combat :)

03-24-2010, 02:12 AM
Doo doo do do do...

03-25-2010, 02:48 PM
Nice Maps, I like the labelled borders. makes it a lot easier for DM's to know where there "invisible" mini is at. Keep uo the awesome work!

03-30-2010, 11:19 PM
I really like the monsters. They're what took me the longest. I'm not great at organics.

03-31-2010, 01:04 AM
Those are cool, man. Great stuff.

03-31-2010, 08:26 PM
I made three versions. We're playing with a younger group and this is a really bloody adventure. We have blood free, goo in lieu of blood and the original blood.

04-02-2010, 01:13 AM
I really like this one. Bright and happy. Well... back to the blood.

04-02-2010, 02:58 PM
I most approve of your mushrooms.

Edit: I must also comment that your maps are excellent for use in VTT software as well.

04-02-2010, 07:22 PM
Wow! Nice looking maps. I have to admit, I'm starting the Demon Queen's Enclave on the 13th, and these are going to dazzle my players!

Thank you very much for your efforts!

04-03-2010, 11:22 AM
Again with the multiple maps.

04-03-2010, 01:08 PM
Dude, these maps are pimpin'! Nice work!

Would it be difficult to do these without grid lines? If so, never mind, but if not, I'm sure there are a lot of us who'd love a gridless version. Greedy of me, I know. ;)

04-03-2010, 03:39 PM
Let it be so! 8)

04-03-2010, 03:45 PM
And Again! and again!

04-03-2010, 04:12 PM
Awesome! Thank you. :)

04-03-2010, 04:59 PM
Woo! Two in a day. New record.

04-04-2010, 08:54 PM
Tried something new with the shadows in the training hall. Are they good?

04-05-2010, 05:38 PM
These are great Paradox! Take a bow and some rep! What are you making them in?

100% Photoshop. All the pieces and all the textures are mine or PS default. It's been a learning process, but the best thing is to jump right in.

04-06-2010, 02:11 AM
Does anyone know if you can make a "stamp" in photoshop? I can place objects, but trying to place 30,000 rocks in a pile leads to insanity. I've also created a "stamp from" file that I can take a coin and stamp it, but it seems like there should be a better and faster way. The additional picture is an example of what I'm getting. It just feels too regular.

04-06-2010, 02:23 AM
Paint Shop Pro and Gimp can do that since they use color images for the brush and not just grayscale. Coyotemax has a method using the clone stamp tool but I never understood it.

04-12-2010, 01:06 AM
oh im so excited to star this adventure as soon as you guys finish the maps

04-13-2010, 03:00 AM
Wasn't really sure how to approach a secret room. Meh, good enough.

04-13-2010, 03:03 AM
Last one for this room.

04-14-2010, 02:27 AM
Only a few more then I can start on Zombies.

04-15-2010, 06:16 PM
L13 - Embattled Ruins is NOT going to be reproduced by me. There is the poster map in the adventure and it's available for download if you have a DDI subscription. I like WotC.

Here's the next map.

04-15-2010, 06:59 PM
This just gets better and better....let me give you more rep if it lets me.

:: edit sadly not ..need to spread more around first::

04-19-2010, 09:06 PM
He is doing a fantastic job.

I've also found an odd use for the maps with non-red blood. I'm using many of these combat maps for Ce'leth, which is a Call of Cthulhu inspired underground city filled with aboleths and other horrors. Some of the maps I use the alternative colored blood to represent regions where non-human monsters are butchered up.

Unfortunately it's getting to be the end of the semester. Which ultimately means term papers and finals as well as delay map making. I'm not really thrilled with the bone throne, but I got sick of looking at it. Enjoy!

04-20-2010, 02:38 AM
I love the Columns of fire, it came out quite exceptionally I think.

04-23-2010, 06:03 PM
Oooo.... webs....

04-23-2010, 06:06 PM
Had to set up all new schemes for the new surroundings.

Only 2 more to go.

04-27-2010, 10:46 PM
WOOOma da?

04-28-2010, 03:19 AM
That it! Done. No more. DONE. Wow... nothing like a marathon to remind you to take a break every once in a while. I really liked the texture of the Black Gates, but I realized that it would take WAY too much ink for printing, thus the printable map. Good luck Kiddies.

04-28-2010, 04:32 AM
These are simply wonderful :D. Awesome! You've done an impressive job and you're improving your technique with every step.

Congratz on a job well done...

04-28-2010, 06:16 PM
Great job on the maps. You make my job as a DM much easier. I hope you do the next module too!

04-29-2010, 05:37 PM
Yeah, I'll be starting on the E1 sometime in the summer. I only build these one module ahead. We are just getting into the Trollhaunt now, so once we start DQE I can start the next.

05-18-2010, 11:20 PM
Fantastic stuff, Paradox. I'm about to start running DQE and this will definitely enhance my game. Thanks so much!

07-13-2010, 11:13 AM
Thanks very mch for all your work, I'm running this module at the moment and your maps are making it a lot more visual.

08-19-2010, 10:20 PM
Man oh Man! Are my players gonna love these Maps!! Great Job Paradox!

I don't know if its just my crappy computer but when I click on Map L8 only half of the map comes up. Is this just my computer?

Why not send him a private message message through his profile. (after your 10th post I think you will be able to).

He has not visited the guild for two months, but he might have message alerts to his email.

09-25-2010, 09:23 PM
I just sent him one, Thanks for the heads up! :)

10-09-2010, 07:38 PM
Very nice work! Anyone know if they are all compiled in one location or a zip file?

03-30-2011, 12:36 AM
Hey, sorry for dropping the thread like that. I started this while under employed, finished it while unemployed and then started a new job and haven't had any time to play my favorite game or draw any pretty pictures. For those of you still trolling through these forums, I've uploaded a complete ZIP package of the entire Demon Queen's Enclave a la Paradox Wanderer to megaupload.

03-21-2012, 09:58 AM
Thanks Paradox for all of your hard work. I am sure my group will enjoy these. We are almost finished P1!

04-12-2012, 03:01 AM
Amazing stuff saved me a heap of time!

06-10-2012, 01:43 AM
Very nice.

12-06-2012, 04:31 PM

I am going to be running P2 very soon using roll20.net online table top. I have found your maps invaluable in getting it set up. I had to resize them a bit (roll20 uses 70px to the inch). I was wondering if you would have an issue with me offering the resized maps to the developers to put in their library of available items. This way they are already to go if someone else on roll20 wants to use them. I would make sure that you were credited of course.

Thanks again for the great maps.

Edit, I meant P2 instead of P1

03-19-2013, 11:39 AM
Now that megaupload.com has been taken down by "the man" =( , is there anywhere else to download this zip archive? if someone can get it to me, I'd gladly host it on one of my servers...

07-26-2013, 05:26 AM
Thanks for the maps. I have fumbled my way through creating a Maptool file with these. My first try but they work a treat.
