Thanks for the comment, Redrobes. Yeah, text handling in Photoshop is very slow and awkward, well it is for me at least. This does indeed make it much faster to place labels, especially on test/personal maps where I can let the program generate the names.

Thanks, ChickPea. I do intend on releasing this at some stage, when I've reached v1.0 but not sure when that will be as my attention ebbs and flows between the various programs I'm working on. At the moment I am working on WaterSorter, which as the name suggests, handles coasts and rivers. I won't leave it six years till my next update as I do intend to make a post about WaterSorter in the coming weeks.

    Thanks guys.

Jax, I haven't made BorderControl available yet as it is still very much a work in progress. Same as TextThing. I've not had much time to work on the program since I made this post but hopefully that will change soon.

only saw this today! this is really great stuff. I'd love toget my claws into this and try it out. sadly i know nothing about coding sop not sure how helpful my feedback would be! keep up the good work

I just got here, somehow I never realized you were posting up in here. So cool, I'm interested in trying this out myself so I'll let you know if and when I do.

I'm impressed! This is becoming a great tool. I would suggest you add support to add images (town symbols, castles, etc), and roads (and as a deviation, rivers). NameThing could even follow the curvature of the road/river?
    Keep up the good work.

Cheers guys. Unfortunately it looks like finding the time to work on this project is going to be hard again for a while which is a bit of a downer... especially with this blog being so super popular. 2313 views? :s
    Hehe. That can't be right.

Well, if you need soneone to test the stuff or to add some graphics, count me in.

Hey, Schwarzkreuz. I don't think it's that tough a plan. It will certainly take me some time as I'm particularly slow at coding but I'm sure if I stick at it I'll get there eventually.

As for documentation... there is a PDF tutorial file in the TreeThing thread on how to use that program although it is woefully out of date. I guess I'm going to have to spend some time soon and update it. The other "Things" though, no, there is no documentation yet. This is the first time I've spoken about most of them and although some are up and running most are still at the planning stage.

This is a realy tough plan. Is there some documantation on your Things somewhere?
