Greetings.
My name is CowboyKim, and I am glad to be a new member here at Cartographer's guild. I've lurked on the forums a bit, and I've finally decided to come out on the open and post one of my mini maps. Unfortunately, my scanner is currently broken, so I had to take a snapshot with a digital camera.
As you can see, the flash made some parts of the map too bright, but I hope you won't mind.
I would appreciate some feedback, both positive and negative.

Nice handdrawn map!
My suggestions are: Download software like Gimp, you will be able to get many more effects on your map to make it more pleasing.

A couple of other suggestions:
Once you're happy with the pencil version, go over it with a black pen, it'll make it stand out more, particularly from the background grid.
You could add more interest to the map by hatching in a more regular way, too.
