    Info [CWBP2] World Map and Plot Listings (get yours now!)

    Here's how claiming a plot works. You take the landmass png file, blot your colour anywhere in the white unclaimed areas in any shape, and that is the area that you get to map or develop (or both obviously). Upload your altered png with your chosen plot into a post here and the main map will be updated accordingly.

    You will be assigned a plot number in order of seniority (based on the time you chose your plot). In all cases of dispute the senior plot takes precedence, but it is preferable if you work with any neighbours you have.

    ----------------Important----------------
    When naming threads for your map they should follow this convention: CWBP 2: - Plot ### - (type of work) - Title of thread or map
    Where type of work equals "WIP" for a work in progress, "Map" for a finished map, "Info" for other development like history or stories or what have you.
    For example my plot's thread title will be "CWBP 2: - Plot 003 - (WIP) - Broken Moon"
    For a finished and complete map it would be "CWBP 2: - Plot 003 - (Map) - Broken Moon"
    --------------------------------------------

    (keep in mind there will be a delay in me updating this map so try not to accidentally claim an already claimed plot.)

    SCALE: At the equator each pixel represents 4 km square. This is an equirectangular projection so as you approach the poles the each pixel will represent narrower distance.

    Redrobes has helpfully provided a scale for the y coordinates in this post here:

    Y=500, Scale=1236 in m/pix
    Y=625, Scale=1530 in m/pix
    Y=750, Scale=1815 in m/pix
    Y=875, Scale=2089 in m/pix
    Y=1000, Scale=2351 in m/pix
    Y=1125, Scale=2597 in m/pix
    Y=1250, Scale=2828 in m/pix
    Y=1375, Scale=3041 in m/pix
    Y=1500, Scale=3236 in m/pix
    Y=1625, Scale=3410 in m/pix
    Y=1750, Scale=3564 in m/pix
    Y=1875, Scale=3695 in m/pix
    Y=2000, Scale=3804 in m/pix
    Y=2125, Scale=3889 in m/pix
    Y=2250, Scale=3950 in m/pix
    Y=2375, Scale=3987 in m/pix
    Y=2500, Scale=4000 in m/pix

    And it reverses again down to the south pole. So treat Y as distance in pixel from the top or bottom of world image.
    Where m/pix is meters per pixel. So for the pixels at Y 2000 are 3804 meters wide per pixel. The vertical distance is always 4000 meters per pixel.

    My suggestion is that one you've chosen a plot you plug it into G. Projector switch it to orthographic projection and base your map on that.

    Regarding islands or island chains not represented on this map: Feel free to make whatever you wish and try and find a suitable place for them on the world map, we will then ad them in. Don't make the islands too large though 50-80 km square would be the upper-upper limit I'd think. The same applies to lakes an inland bodies of water, almost none of which are represented in our map.

    Please try and keep your plot around or under 500 km square, but don't feel bound to that exact size. There is no minimum, but I would say that 1000 km an edge is really pushing it. Don't feel the need to map right up to the edges of your page border, your plot can be of any shape and it may be easier in many cases to just stick with what you intend to develop fully, rather than half-arseing information on the edges. For those developing history, or story, or civilization, etc. the same guidelines apply.

    Regarding the foundation information, the represented elevations, coastlines and all other information is merely to provide you with a base to work from and what you can expect from neighbouring territories. Feel free to change it to suit your requirements with two caveats, we expect people to maintain some sort of consistence regarding the general area their plot is in, plots bordering your have seniority regarding the features in their territory, which can have an effect on yours (so either work with them, or failing that ask them for a copy of the the stuff they intend to put on the edge of the map boarding yours).

    Plots which have information attached but are open for further development will be the original colour hatched with white. If you want such a plot put a post in this thread with the number and tell us you are reclaiming it. (for example: RECLAIM of plot number 5)
