Dwarven Resevoir Settlement WIP

Another byproduct of our temporarily paused campaign...

This was originally introduced as an abandoned hidden dwarven settlement, with a lot of water features... The entrance was secured by a dual-reservoir system, which required either someone on the inside to switch water between two huge cisterns, Olympic level stamina in holding your breath, or a water-breathing spell... Unfortunately I never mapped those spaces - the second reservoir empties into the "mid level" equipment room, which then descends 10 flights of stairs to a larger, spider-infested and partially collapsed underground chamber.

A beautiful map, and it has a SCALE! Excellent.

I can see it now as a player, OOoooooo webs, Better torch them to ensure nothing bad comes.

They are indeed pretty maps. What are you making them in?

Yeah webs... But unfortunately, they were some sort of wacky hybrid web-spinning and water spider (thanks, GM). So there were still more of them when we discovered the underwater river to the east...

I do most of my work in Photoshop CS. These were both done completely in PS. Occasionally I'll do bits and pieces in Illustrator or Vectorworks (a CAD program) - I especially use Illustrator when I need a Vector-based outline of something (i.e. a landmass) that I might want to zoom into and detail at a later date.

Depending on where and when I'm doing the work (at home, at a cafe, etc), I use either my trackball or my 10x12 palette (which i LURVS, and is also great for doing coastlines, rivers, or any sort of "organic" outline).
