For a map that we're working on, we needed a symbol for a large river raft that hauls freight. Such rafts floated downstream and were pulled back upstream empty by draft horses on the river bank. As a prototype, we chose the river rafts that used to haul logs downstream on Northern Bavaria's Main River. Such rafts went out of business long ago, but the one depicted above at the Franconian Open Air Museum in Bad Windsheim served as our prototype. In the second thumbnail you can see the raster symbol that we made of the raft. It's available free for personal and commercial use under the Open Game License 1.0a. The raft has a size of 50x15 feet (15 x 4.5m). The scale is 40 pixels ' 1 foot.

Just in general, good/bad/nice/ugly/awesome - and what could I improve? Anything at all really.
These are my first mountain brushes that have created, drawn by hand, scanned and fixed in PS.

The map is just a test.

To get a less dense field, take the first n points (as ordered by the fid attribute) and they will still be evenly distributed.

Just posting this in case anyone may find it useful. It is a 150x150px 300dpi .png. Use it to define a new pattern and you can fill a page to create a seemless isogrid.

I am new here and new to map making and GiMP. Here are the first 2 objects i have created. They dont look so hot zoomed in but zoomed out on a large scale map i think they look ok. Feel free to use them or look disdainfully at them and chuckle about my newbiness. Any constructive criticism is welcome.

Here are some rocks I ripped out of a picture, ummm.... I guess I don't own the rights to these rocks, but, rocks is'z rocks right?

Below I'm posting a PNG file I made with them, along with the psd, in case you don't want the stroke or something. The psd was made using cs 5.1.

Hope these rocks are put to some good use. Use them as you would like.
