Hello, Cartographers!

I have been creating a world as the campaign setting for my campaign in D&D, but there's only one problem: it's all in my head.
So my mission for you, if you choose to accept it, is simple and not unique by any means. Please draw me a map!

The map is going to be a single continent, the Dalokyr Empire.

As you can see, my mapmaking skills are not quite to par with the incredibly talented individuals on this forum. So, here's what I would like on the map:

The Provinces, named and with distinct borders.
-Red: Furosia
-Green: Pits of Everfall
-Tan: Triumph
-Yellow: Greater Haythorn
-Purple: Fero Manux
-Black: Dragon's Field
-Blue: Savnewall

Major Cities
-Furosia
1. Morokei
2. Fort Scarlengrad

-Pits of Everfall
1. Skaldor Finn
2. Lothor
3. Delver's Drop
4. Fodrin

-Triumph
1. Victory Falls
2. Fort Grandiose
3. Conquest

-Greater Haythorn
1. Fort Blacksun
2. Greyland
3. Haythorn
4. Blissfield
5. Turkwall

-Fero Manux
1. Reception
2. New Freedom
3. Duncrest

-Savnewall
1. Fort Centrumgard
2. Fort Indomite
3. Fort Tauran

A Compass
North should be straight up.
A Scale Thingy
Its name eludes me, but I'd like the scale of the map to be 1 inch:25 miles. The distance between cities should be about 3 inches. I'd like the continent to be fairly large, if the cartographer wills it to be so.

I'm looking for a map in much the style of the ones in the Eberron Campaign Guide, although quality isn't much of a concern other than being fairly high-res. I just want a simple map of my continent. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me an email at:
sierra312--at--gmail.com (remove -- and change "at" to "@")

Thank you in advance! I'm sure my gaming group will love it!

Attached is a map we use for a fund raising event (an event run by all volunteers). The event has a total of 6 similar maps - 1 more complicated, 2 the same and 2 easier/less complex (shorter routes). All of the routes are primarily a derivative of the attached map.

We could easily use the same map but I'm curious if anyone has any really creative ideas on how to change this (more interesting, appealing, entertaining, fun, etc)...without making it a huge project. The organization is able to pay for design work but it's in the context of a fund raising event.

Thanks

Key aspects:
- roads clearly marked
- green arrows indicate route direction
- route highlighted
- confusing intersections enlarged
- there is a back side with a cue sheet

Addendum
- Pay - opened, method - paypal, check, etc
- Quality/size - 8.5x11
- Date - need by July 7+/-
- Copyright - opened, but we would like to reserve right to use the design in future years
- Future opportunity - this is an annual event with route modifications.

So I am working on an original fantasy setting for a game I want to run with some friends, but I would like to have a world I can develop and play...

So I am working on an original fantasy setting for a game I want to run with some friends, but I would like to have a world I can develop and play around with. For this I need just a basic overland map for 3 continents.

Commission: If possible I would like the work to be done for free seeing as this is just for a hobby, but I'd be willing to pay up to ~$50 for a map if the quality is good.

Subject: For the map I would like it based around 3 continents, similar to Eurasia and Africa, in both Size and look. I have some basic information as well on important places I would like on the map from mountain ranges, important rivers, and various other things. The Map will just be Environmental information, nothing involving country boundaries and territories, just important aspects of the continents. While some things are fixed there is also plenty of room for an artist to add details.

As for the Scale, I would like something roughly 400mi/1 inch since I am trying to cover all of the known world in the setting.

Style: I would prefer the map to be done in greyscale, though colored ones would also be ok. I would prefer decent quality illustration, and if possible a style similar to this: Download Fantasy Art Wallpaper 2102x1528 | Wallpoper #418330

Quality: I am looking for something of semi-professional quality, not something to extravagent, but decent. Like I said this is just for a hobby so something simple and easy to understand would be great. As for a Size I would prefer the map to fit on a sheet of 8.5" by 11" paper so I can pas it around easily.

Time Constraints:Preferably I would like to have it done in 2 months.

If you're interested Email me at d-leibman@hotmail.com to discuss more of the details, or if you have any questions.

Good day to you!

What a great website & community you have here at cartographer’s guild! I really have enjoyed looking at the map images. There are some very impressive art here!

We thought we would see if anyone might be interested in helping us out with a few maps! We are willing to pay you for your help.

We would love to find some one who would enjoy helping us turn our in game world maps into images that we can use on our website or wiki. We would like to take the finished maps and use them with google map’s to add map markers and turn them into interactive maps for all of the players.

Below you can see a few examples of what the in game world maps look like & what the game world looks like. There are three main continent maps, one town, and potentially several dungeon maps we would love to have made. In reality we have around 300 dungeons but I think that is way to may to ask anyone to create! ;o)

We would prefer lord of the rings style maps but we will leave the art style of the maps up to the artist and give him or her freedom to be creative!

If this sounds like something you might be interested in let me know.

Thanks,
lucas
[Paid] UO Roleplay is a free to play server which exists on donations from the players to help offset the expresses of keeping the server running. All development on the server is donated by players/staff with their time. Some players do donate occasionally to help pay for the server’s upkeep. Please provide us with the amount you would like to be paid. We could potentially have quite a few maps to make. We would like to develop a ongoing relationship with a map maker that would allow us to poetically have him/her create quite a few maps.
[Style] We are looking for something along the lines of LoTR style or some variant of that but the artist can freely free to be creative.
[Quality] Any quality is fine as long as is looks nice. ;o)
[Time Constraints] There are no time constraints.
[Copyright] We would like to use the maps with the game server & primarily on the websites.

Hi there,

First of all... some amazing maps here! I'm so glad to have found this website.

Commission / Subject

I would like to respectfully request an artist's time and effort for the creation of seven draft maps for different city areas. One main overview map that would give readers a general overview of the city and its areas / districts. Next, six area / district maps which each has its own distinct type and is of course part of the city as a whole.

Style

The maps are for use in a Player's Guide for an RPG which is set in a Film Noir / hardboiled detective style environment with heavy emphasis on all of the cliches. The maps would therefore have to have a Film Noir / 1930s - 1940s style. The book itself and therefore the maps would be greyscale. Those are the only real style requirements.

Quality & Size

The initial draft maps can be any quality. The final maps would have to be (semi) professional quality and suitable for print. Vector format is preferred because that would allow for easier scaling if required, but I'm open to suggestions on that part.

These draft maps would, in a later stage, have to be expanded / finished in a print-ready form for inclusion in the Player's Guide. The final book would be roughly US Letter / A4 in size for the pages. The main overview map can be spread over two such pages while each of the area / district maps would be about full page (excluding margins) in width and roughly half a page in height.

Time Constraints

There are no heavy time constraints as the book itself is scheduled for publication in September 2014. However, to meet deadlines the final quality maps would have to be available around May 2014 and these draft maps would preferably be available no later than September 2013.

Of course I won't say no to earlier delivery. ;-)

Payment

Negotiable to an extent. I have no money to pay for either the draft maps or the finalized ones. However, I will clearly mention your name in the credits of the book and other forms of communication like the game's website. I'm also willing to include a URL in the credits if it points to a professional quality homepage for the artist.

If the book actually makes a decent profit, I can offer a financial compensation at that time if desired. Should the game prove popular, return work would be required but will at that time most likely be fully paid.

Copyright

Negotiable to an extent.

I would like global and eternal reproduction rights to the maps. The artist can retain copyright of the maps. I will have the right to use the images for commercial purposes, the artist will have the right to exhibit the image as part of his portfolio but not to exploit it for commercial gain.

Hello there I have been working for 3 years on my own MMO (Java Applet client) it is supposed to be free for play. Since I work on my own as a programmer, designer, tester and whatever else .. I cannot spend several months to learn proper map designing. I am experienced user of Adobe Photoshop but not in this way so I have created map sketch that contains whole landscape, cities, towns, hills, woods etc .. but the problem is that it looks really silly. Whole game client I think looks pretty good (for one man project) so I need the wolrd map look a little better as well and thats where you come in :)

I can post you my .psd file with what I have and desperately please you for polishing my map into something that will fit my game client. I will pay for your work because otherwise I would have to spent too much time to do it on my own and that time I would rather spend on programming and further development of my MMO. Since I am common employee in IT I cannot afford to pay hundreds of EUR. If someone will be satisfied with 20 - 40 EUR then we can have a deal. Of course in long-term I expect to outsource other graphic content into my game so if you are interested, dont hesitate to contact me - stealman@seznam.cz.

Here is my map sketch in JPG (I have PSD as well for you)
http://www.bohemia-web.cz/resources/mapa.jpg

If you wanna see how does client look like to make the map fit it, here is link to one screenshot
http://www.bohemia-web.cz/resources/inventory.jpg

The game itself is not meant to be like WOW or something else it is more like a pen and paper games where you just manage your character and combat is in turn-based tiled system. Characters remains in world even if you are logged off and they may do something without you (gather resources, fight mobs or craft something).

Iam working on complete web pages where I will publish more info about project, but if you are interested, write me.

With many thanks Milan Szabó, Senior J2EE developer.

Greetings. This is my first post on these forums, which I joined for the express purpose of finding someone who can help me with a project I've been wanting for a while now.

Long story short, I have a fantasy world, and a basic map of the continent, but I'd like to have a more detailed map that I can put on a canvas or a wall scroll and hang in my living room. I will be paying for the copyright ownership, and we can negotiate a price after I've seen some examples of your work.

As I said, I have a basic map, made using a really basic drawing program a long time ago. This will serve as a rough outline of what I need, and I will provide further details regarding geographical features that aren't on my map.

Now I'm off to search through the profile settings to see if I can figure out how to allow people to send me emails.

Subject
I need several maps for zones to a web-based RPG game, four to start with, but I'll order/buy them one by one. I have attached my own illustrations of the maps which are being used during development (placeholder maps). Basically I want the same maps, with regard to resolution and object positioning, but better looking. I'm always open to suggestions and discussion.

Style
I like the style of the following maps but I'm up for discussion about different styles:
http://static.mmo-champion.com/mmoc/...tilevelmap.jpg
http://www.ancient-heroes.org/images...p_silence1.jpg

Quality & Size
The quality has to be well above the attached placeholder maps. The map resolution should be equal to the attached placeholder maps. It should be raster maps.

Time Constraints
I'm not working under any time constraint but the sooner the better.

Payment
Please make suggestions so I have somewhere to start. I have a limited budget and may prioritize price over skill depending on their relation. Contact me for further discussion. I would like to pay via paypal.

Copyright
I will have the right to use the image for commercial purposes, the artist will have the right to exhibit the image as part of his portfolio but not to exploit it for commercial gain.
If you feel this is too limiting please suggest alternative copyright terms.

Contact Details
I cannot receive PMs (yet) so please contact me at henrik--at--elmera.se (remove the -- and convert "at" to @)

Thanks for taking your time!

I have a request that may be a little strange, im a writer, in the middle of working on a book that i hope to get published, so ill need the copyright to the map however you can retain use of it for portfolio's and such, however, as i cannot atest to my book actualy geting published, other than my hopes and dreams of it doing so, i can only pay you if i get published, we can come to a deal on the price, and when i get published ill pay you set your price,
now ive drawn a bit of a map
The world is called Lyranar, and is made up of the major kingdoms,
Anstyaura, is the northern most kigdom and controled by humans,
Athos, The orignal land of elves, and is covered in forests, "your typical syilvan glade
New Athos, After a civil war amongst the elves New athos was founded, its again covered in forsts however less so than Athos,
Festori, A jungle kindom,
BlackReach, cut off fromt eh rest of the world by a ring of impentrable mountains *raised by magic after a war thousands of years ago.* it is a

Some important places/ areas to the story which need to be represented on the map are,

the sunken city of osirin which on my map is the swirly bit in the bottom left corner,
The sea of fallen stars,
The plains of dust, which seprate the east and west sides of the map it is home to barbarian tribes and littered with the bones "ruins" of ancientkindoms,
the wild nothing which is a huge glacier to the north, it is the location of the well of souls
The mountains of Koda V'el which are home to the dwarvish kingdom,
the desert of Airiamoor, which is not presant on my map because i suck at drawing maps and forgot to put it there,
the forest of time, its were dragons go to die, it should be remote, but its actual location isnt to important,

I guess what im asking for is some one to hlep me build the world map, and i know its alot, but if you help me ill worship you like a god and most deffintely pay you when i get published,
as for style, i wish it tot feel like an old map
I am an individual and have developed a Board game. I have created a layout of the game but it is very basic and doesn't look much attractive. I have attached the layout of the game.
The current size of the square is 4.5 X 4.5 cm which makes the board 14" X 30" big.
I am thinking to have the game in the Egyptian theme. Other themes or suggestions are always welcome.
I've done research. :)
What I'm looking for is to have someone take the idea that I'm showing above (griffins on the sides as arm rests, a sun display as the back with some kind of red-cushion for the back and seat) and turn into what could only be a MUCH better version.

I would like to extend a plea for a map of a region I have in mind. Unfortunately, I am not very artistic (not at all). I can provide details but will start with this. The map will be a region made up of a costal eastern region (province of the Eastern Rim), a Hilly north western region (Province of the Highlands), and a south western region of farmlands and flatlands (Povince of Ruindil Valley). The whole area is collectively known as the Spires Valley surrounded to the west and south by a mountain range (the Spires Mountains) and to the North and east by a large body of water (ocean) called the Blue Veil. Anyone interested please leave a message here and I will get back to you. I have a couple of cities and ruins areas identified as well. The region should take two weeks to cross east to west and one week north to south. Hope to hear back from someone soon.
Very Respectfully,
