    Default 1st Map - The Fissionable Republic

    Hey all - I found this site when I was trying to figure out how to do a simple, stylized map for NationStates, an online game that I play. Lots of great advice here and I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. Its not much compared to some of work that I've seen here but I just wanted to share it and say thanks to all of you

    Nice first map! Was it intended that the landmass looks like a mushroom cloud?

    Looks indeed nice, altough I would probably go for a rough sketch-style for a PA map.

    Ahh NationStates I used to love that "game" (although anything that takes up THAT much of your time really isn't a game... your map looks good. I like the mushroom cloud theme..

    Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.

    Thanks for the nice comments all. Glad the mushroom cloud shape was recognizable. Fun stuff. I'm on to my second mapping effort now!
