I am new here, so don't know really what the normal process is. I read the "read this first" bit and was too tired to understand it, then I had a look at a few maps and thought - in for a penny, in for a pound!
So here is my pen and ink map. I used photoshop only to stitch it back together after my tiny scanner mashed it into little pieces.
The blog I first posted it on has some more info.
I couldn't figure out the whole computery thumbnail thing, so sorry it is so large

Finished Maps
Even if I am correct, I would still advise you to follow your heart. This whole Cartographers Guild thing, it seems to me, is more about passion and skill and learning new techniques than it is about definitions and rules.
