That is cool Diamond. Are those squares flags or something else? Seem strange for flags but I'm sure they mean something to you.
Here is yet another remake of my perennial game/writing setting, Tropan.
I must stress that none of the artwork figures are mine; they were gleaned from around the web over the course of months and years. They are all copyright to their respective artists/creators. If the creator of a particular piece happens to see this and wants me to remove his or her work, let me know and I will do so.
The mountain brushes are not mine either; I believe they came from a set that StarRaven posted some time ago, though I might be mistaken. The little eye/circle icons used for the Wuchai Fortresses are definitely by StarRaven; they're from her recent Sketchy Map Symbols set.
This map is for my personal use; please do not copy, redistribute, or otherwise screw with it. Thanks.

They're basically semi-flags. Sort of a symbolic thing worn as a flagpole on the back, Japanese-style, by the mercenaries hired by the various cities. Mainly so everyone can keep straight who they're supposed to be killing.

Very cool map, Diamond.
However - just for your information - use of artwork without asking is still a breach of copyright, the They are all copyright to their respective artists/creators. If the creator of a particular piece happens to see this and wants me to remove his or her work, let me know and I will do so doesn't change this.
Yep, I'm aware of it. All but two of the pieces are from people/sites I've emailed and am awaiting permissions from. I'm also not intending to sell this map, use it (in this form) in any published format, or otherwise profit off it.

One of my favorite maps. I love the style, the naming conventions, and the sense of differentiation between places and peoples.

God smote Savannah-la-mar, and in one night, by earthquake, removed her, with all her towers standing and population sleeping, from the steadfast foundations of the shore to the coral floors of ocean.

Nice map, Diamond. Although I think some of your others are better. The delicate character art, although brilliantly drawn, doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the map which has dark, heavy lines. They look pasted on almost as an afterthought, which I'm sure they weren't.
