I like it, simple but nice.
Since I won't have time to map for a while yet, I figured I'd post one I did a few weeks ago, just so you guys don't think I've died or something.
This is a sort of fantasy/steampunk version of a post-Civil War America, with the 'South' remaining independent. I watched Dragonslayer and the remake of True Grit the weekend before I did this, so my inspirations are obvious.
The landforms were made using an altered version of Ascension's quite useful 'Swiss Atlas' style, and the font is plain ol' Arial.

Pseudo-random. I had some half-formed ideas going into it, like that the northern duchies are actually the ones that seceded here, forming a republic. I'd like to develop it further some day...
