Love cutaway views, and this kind of map sure allows for very interesting ones
The Floating Mountains
For the August Challenge, where we should make a map wit mountains prominent in it, I decided to turn it upside down and made floating mountains - ie mountains that hang in the air. It was made in photoshop CS3, mostly hand drawn except for the earth below it all which used a picture for base.

after making the cutaway I shortly considered making the whole map in that style, didn't have the time for it though.
