Looks great, glad you got the all clear from the river police![]()
Hey to all. This is the first map that I have ever attempted to create using graphics software on the computer. It was drawn using Photoshop and Illustrator. To be honest, for my first attempt at cartography, I am quite pleased with how it turned out. The mountains and hills were all individually hand drawn using a Wacom tablet. The "staining" is a compilation of an underlay and overlay I put together. I really appreciated all of the tutorials that I found around here as they greatly aided my fledgling abilities, and taught me quite a bit about the usage of Photoshop. Also a special thanks to everyone who commented and helped me out in my WIP thread. Please let me know what you think.
The map is of a fictional world I am working on setting up for my own pleasure.
Check out the WIP thread.

Looks very good!
Very nice! I really love the style and look!
Seeing people's maps always makes me want to jump into that world... >.>

Nice composition!
Thank you all for the kind words.
That is really, really great work. It's a major pain in the ass to draw mountains/trees/etc individually, but it really pays off when you do - just gorgeous. I love the colors and aging effects too. Thumbs up and rep from me!

I agree about individually hand drawn elements look great and that they can gt to be a royal pain in the ass. I had originally created a GIMP image hose brush and had laid the mountains out on the map using that, but after getting close to calling the map done I decided that I should suck it up and hand draw everything in. Tanks Diamond for the inspirational kudos.
