Map Terra incognita 4 again (hand-made)

Another new version of Terra incognita, hand-made this time, on paper elephant skin (seems like parchment), watercolor and ink.
    Fun to do.

    That's very nice indeed!
So out of curiosity: why are you making so many different versions of this map? For trying out styles?

I try different styles, I do experiments.
But I get a little tired of Terra incognita No. 4, I'll go to number 5 ;-)

I like the antiquity atmosphere the map has. Very nice.

That's a really nice handdrawn effort. Love it, this is exactly the look so many are trying to replicate in photoshop.

Turgenev : I like everything that seems old. In particular, anything that reminds the Middle Ages.

Karro : I'd rather make hand-made maps and software maps.
    But in hand-made version, I get :
    - lots of little things irregular (all trees are different, there are no two identical mountains), it is tedious to achieve with the software.
    - an object (map) which is pleasant to touch. This is very important to me.
I use the software to "test" a hand-made style.

And also the coloring of the lettering, because the flow of the ink isn't smooth and consistent, but stutters and is darker in some places and lighter in others. It's hard to do that in a comp, but it's one of those little things that screams of authenticity.

That alone gets two big thumbs from me.

    Keep up the great work!
